Samba and 2 hard drives

Hello to all.. n00b here...

I've got a RH9 server setup with 2 hard drives ready and mounted. My predicament is that I want to use samba (already setup on hd1) to place files from a windoze box on hd2, reinstall the windoze box, then put them back.

What I need help with is setting up a folder in my samba configuration that saves to hd2 instead of hd1.

any help much appreciated.

If the second hard drive is mounted at /mnt/hd2, then just copy the files. Samba is for sharing accross a network.

THanks for the reply

I understand how samba works. I'm wanting to skip the step of copying files by telling samba to put them on hd2

thanks

Where the 2nd HD is mounted n the /mnt/hd2 directory and user 1 has write premission and user2 has read only permission.

[HD2]
path = /mnt/hd2
writable = yes
valid users =user1,user2
create mode = 775
directory mode = 775
write list = user1
read list = user2
