Disabling IPv6
Last time I did this, the procedure was something like: # echo "alias net-pf-10 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf These days I think it is better to do it like this: # echo "NETWORKING_IPV6=no" >> /etc/sysconfig/network A good FC7 resource: http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-fc7.html |
sorry - no cookie
the echo works but seems to have no effect on the browser access.
Mike i'm stopping now to have lunch & do some shopping to keep my wife happy. (12h22 here) |
At this point we throw up our hands and blame the modem. The linux side of the connection is working and there is nothing blocking the routing. Look to the firmware and the modem configuration.

Yup - I gave up and bought an ethernet router (linksys AG241).
Installed it on the PC side; switched to linux and "magic" all is connected within a couple of minutes. Works perfectly. OK - so i should have persisted with the usb modem but after a week of going nowhere fast the logic of spending on the eth modem eventually sank in. Mike |
It is more expensive, but it frees you from the manufacturers whim.
It is not gonna stop going (short of blowing up), and so will save you money in the long run. |
