Safe Dial-Up Linux Modems

I wonder if there is a list of safe linux modems. I want to start experimenting with real fax servers and I would like to identify cheap linux safe modems.

I have gone through ebay and I found a lot of linux modems but I couldnt identify the manufacturer.

Most of the modems that are official linux, are terribly expensive like the ifax etc.

On ebay I found some linux modems like the Internal US Robotics, Diamond Supra, Rockwell and many more.

With this said, I would like to know if there is a linux safe hardware e-store where I can purchase. I have seen the LinModem list but having this knowledge doesnt mean you can easily find it or buy it for that matter since most models are already gone.

Any external modem will do, troublesome are internal so-called winmodems.

Espacially if they are serial modems, for external USB modems, check the HCL

I am using a serial moem made by Sweex. It uses the Intel Ambient chipset. It works perfectly straight off. Has all the features like fax etc. Its fairls cheap as well. I paid about £24.00 for it off the net.
