S3 video Driver


Hi there,, I had just started to get into linux,was really enjoying it when my Mobo decided to crash..so i get a new mobo only to find i now have no gui!!
when X starts the screen turns blank and i get a "please connect moniter screen".Help!! console works fine but no gui. Distro is RH9..and new mobo is a VIA 1 running S3 prosavage DDR intergrated..should i switch to a generic driver?and if so ..how?

could try xconfigure, xconfig, X-config, X-configure, one of them.
I dont know what redhat uses, probley the first one, last time I used red hat was 7.2

no sorry after getting some sleep I remembered that its "xorgconfig",
or
you can type X --help and it will give you a description of what arguments you can pass to "X".
If you get stuck in X push Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace to kill your X session.........Good luck!
