S3 savage IX, many problems

I have a Micron Transport GX+, P3 750. I recently installed Slackware 9 and whenever I selected, the correct video settings KDE froze after it loaded. After that I tried installing the latest Redhat it properly detected my video-card as S3 Savage IX and screen resolution at 1400x1050. One problem I had with Redhat that I also had with Suse 8.1 was that when I opened up a browser the screen went haywire with lines everywhere. I really dislike Redhat so I saved the x86config, and reinstalled Slackware. I changed all of the video and monitor settings in slacks x86config to match the Redhat one. When I rebooted and logged in as root KDE loaded at the right resolution but text and windows where too huge to fit on the screen. I read another post on here, and just created another user and it fixed the problem except whenever I use the root password the fonts return and the system freezes. I also have the original problem that whenever I open Mozilla or Konquer the screen messes up and my system freezes. I'm pretty new at this, any help is very much appreciated.

Okay, too much wackiness to guess, just paste in the entire XF86Config file man... whew, nutty.

Cheers,
