s/pdif does it work?

Hi,

Does anyone use the s/pdif audio interface in linux? Does it work well? I use kernel 2.6.16 here on a ASUS A8N-VM CSM and I am planning to use this output to connect my computer to my stereo at home. What kind of cable should I get? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
