that drive has been around for years it is built into the kernel make sure you have your CMOS bios set for none windows or none plug n play that waylinux will read the correct IRQ and load the module . typ dmesg in your termenal as sudo or root and read the the reaout then typ lspci -n to see your chip set if it is the wireless let me know.then we will need to go another direction. realtec eth0 card has been part of the kernel for years.
Yes, does anyone have any installation tips for this on CentOS ?
--- BTW: I located this driver: ftp://152.104.238.194/cn/nic/r1000_v1.05.tgz
Which according to other forums, seems to apply to this card. However, after following instructions and installing a variety of kernel packages (headers / devel). Basically, each of the steps outlined here:

The instructions don't seem to get to far; and leave CentOS (2.6.18-53) with a 'Error 2' in the middle of the make process.
Thanks
No offense, you are dumb compiling those modules (drivers). The kernel already includes it. If the distributor did not select it to be compile, you have to re-configure the kernel to include it and re-compile it with that module. If it is not in your kernel version, you have to upgrade the kernel that has it.
The source code from Realtek is written for 2.6.9 kernel. It will not compile correctly because the pointers have been change after that version.
In case anybody else finds this thread through Google, it is worth emphasizing that the 8169 driver in the stock kernel is both obsolete and liable to segfault if your card is an 8101. Use the ones from the Realtek web site.
