Robotics 56K Fax Internal Modem (ISA) Problem

I am having a problem with an ISA modem. It is a U.S. Robotics 56K Internal Fax modem. I am attempting to set up this modem, with bad results. Dmesg tells me that this modem is in /dev/ttyS2, so I try to minicom on that port. It has a DSA chip in the center. The label on the DSA chip says: TMS320X2RKPGF <nl> D11640PGF <nl> HD-88A3H4W <nl> PHILIPPINES . "<nl>" means NewLine. I am using kernel 2.4.20-8 on RedHat 9.0. The modem wasn't installed when I installed RedHat. How can I get this modem to work??

Thanks Alot!!

An ISA modem is all hardware and does not require special drivers.
The modem is configured by sending it AT commands via minicom (or any terminal application) or the dialer application. The command for disabling auto answer is ats0=0. You can find out more information by google for "AT command set"

What happen when you tried to use minicom?

Rich309, Are you sure it isn't an ISA modem too?
