I could care less about the modem (I think it's a winmodem anyway) -- I just want the soundcard to work under RedHat 8. I've searched high and low to no avail. Any and all help greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Jim

Hi suryadev,

Sadly, the solution was to go back to WinME. It's my son's machine anyway. He thought Linux was cool, but he likes the Windows compatibility better.

The card in question was highly proprietary, and developers never showed any interest in writing Linux drivers for it. I was just too cheap to go out and buy a different soundcard that Linux could use.

Cheers,
Jim
