LinuxQuestions.org - Ricoh R5C822 SD[...] Host Adapter

Hi,

I bought an Inspiron 9200 laptop from Dell last winter. I got everything working with Debian testing back then, except the onboard SD reader. I'm currently running kernel version 2.6.12.

About the reader, it is _not_ a USB SD reader. So for the time being, I bought a USB SD reader, which works fine. This is getting annoying, since the onboard reader works great under WinXP.

The only interesting part (from what I figure) is the line identifying the reader, 0805: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 17). I even had to update the pci.ids file to get this definition ;).

So I would like to know if anyone has been able to make this reader work. Am I missing the big picture and the module already exists? Or will I have to make the module myself? I couldn't find much info on this specific piece of hardware, maybe that's why there isn't a module yet!
