Unhappy Rhel 4 And Hp Smart Array P400

I Have A Big Problem For Install Rhel 4 ES On Hp Proliant Dl385 G2 Because Rhel Don't See Smart Array P400 With 2 Hdd 36,2 Gb Sas. I Have Download A Driver For This Controller On The Usb Drive Diskette External. When I Start Cd 1 Of Rhel With Command "linux Dd" The System Read Floppy But Not Load A Driver. I Have Call Hp Support That Say Me: The Problem Is A Drive Floppy And They Say Me Buy Hp Usb External Drive Diskette Because There Isn't Compatibility With Some Drive Diskette.

This Is Possible??????????

May You Give Me Other Solution????

Two things I'd try:

First, see if your distribution has a "manual install" selection, SuSE Enterprise does, not sure about RH. However you do it, first load the "megaraid_old" module, THEN load the megaraid module. You should then be able to see the disks. I had this same problem with another similar server here, and that got me going. One word of warning with this, is to be sure to run "mkinitrd" afterwards, after putting those modules (in that order!), into your kernel-boot config. Otherwise, you'll have to boot from CD every time, load the modules by hand, then continue to boot from hard-disk.

Another option is to try to update the BIOS/firmware on the system and controller. I've seen newer distros not be able to find older hardware, but work fine after that.

please how to download megaraid_old and megaraid module and how to load this when i start with cd 1 of rhel 4 ?
