RH9 doesn't recognize my Toshiba v.90 internal modem on laptop

I recently installed RH9 on my Toshiba Notebook for thesecond time (now dual boot works!). Now however, RH9, doesn't even see the internal modem. I attempted to configure the network connection, but to no avail. I have been using MS Windows since ver. 3.0 and am very familiar with confiuring hardware for it. However, I am a new user to LINUX and have no idea where to start to get it to recognize hardware.

Here is the information that I retrieved from Windows XP for my modem:

PCI bus 0, device 7, function 0
Memory Range: FFEFFF00-FFEFFFFF
I/O Range: 02F8-02FF
I/O Range: 1C00-1CFF
IRQ: 03
Port: COM3
Max Port Speed: 115200
Use FIFO: YES

The response to AT+GMM is: H.324 video-ready ver. 1.0
The response to ATI3 is: Toshiba V.90 Data+Fax Modem Version 5.98A

Thanks to any and all who reply
Joel
