RH7.3 and AC97 onboard sound (FIC mobo)

Hello there, first post coming up...

I'm on a virgin install of RH7.3 and I have a FIC motherboard with onboard AC97 sound card. Whenever I log into K it tells me the sound resource is temporarily unavailable and anything that tries to use the sound locks up.

cat /proc/pci gives:

If I run /sbin/setup, it claims to find a VIA Technologies|VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller - tries to play a sample sound then locks up...

Any ideas anyone? This is really starting to annoy me now!

Cheers!

Foeh.
