Resolution problem!


Hey all I just got a old monitor because my nice one burnt out. Its resolution was set for 1024x768 and this old one cant do that, so when i boot it doesnt work right and gets all scribbly looking. How do i set the resolution lower on boot. Anyone know what command.

OS=Fedora core 2

I already try fb800x600 and it didnt do nothin said it dont recognize the command or somthin.

Do you boot into X or into a console? If you do the former, try hitting Ctrl-Alt-F1 when X pops up and editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf to suit your older monitor.
