Resolution Missing After Suspend - Linux Mint - ThinkPad x121e
After a suspend last week the correct 1366x768 resolution of my Lenovo x121e disappeared. I am now forced to run an incorrect resolution of 1280x800. My x121e is the Intel Sandybridge graphics model. Before the suspend, the system and resolution was running perfectly- this only occurred after a suspend- it had been running fine for months.
I have tried adding a screen mode using xrandr. This failed.
I have tried editing the grub by inserting vga=844 at start up, as was suggested on the Mint forums, but this had no effect.
This is really frustrating- I have an inch of unused black real estate at the side of my screen, AWN had to be moved from the bottom because there is a couple of cm missing from the bottom too.
I don't know what other options I have.
I'm searching google endlessly but seem to hit no more likely fixes.
Can anyone please help me with this?
I will probably do a full reinstall later today or tomorrow. But I have already tried running Mint from a live usb to see if it made any difference. It didn't- this resolution error is affecting my thinkpad boot up as well as the operating system, so is quite serious. I think even a reinstall would still produce the same problems. So currently, Linux & me have broken my 4 month old laptop that was otherwise running perfectly prior to the suspend.
