Replacement laptop battery question?
I have a DEll Latitude from 2015 and just got a replacement battery. The older one is heavier and has 39 Wh and the new 45Wh. This will not damage my laptop will it? And they are compatible?

The first thing I would do is look of the computer's specs in the manual (if one is available) or on the Dell website. In my experience, the Dell website usually has the specs, even for older models.
If you got the battery Dell, I would expect that it will be okay. If you got somewhere else, I expect that your caution is well advised.

Yes it is not Dell stock, new, from China. Lithium, from an Australian warehouse for $44 AUD.

What did you buy at all? I mean how did you select/order that new battery? Usually newer batteries are smaller, lighter and also have more capacity, that is not a problem at all. But you need to check the compatibility, if it really fit.
probably this helps (or something similar): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1ocYZFgdxo

I've had good luck with 3rd-party replacement batteries.
'Wh' = watt-hour: how much energy the battery will put out. 45 Wh will last 15/13 times 39 Wh - not force 15/13 times the power into the computer. As long as it's the same voltage it can't hurt.

The larger capacity battery may require recalibration of the charge so it represents the actual % charge instead of indicating what was likely correct for the old battery. Other than that everything is likely good.
Dell will have the procedure to calibrate the meter.
