Repartitioning Without Damaging Data
I've succesfully dual booted Windows 98SE and Linux Redhat 9. After a few weeks I've come to realize that I should've made another fat32 partition for Documents / music / other media. I was wondering if there was any way to go about resizing my existing partitions and then creating a new fat32 partition without damaging any data currently on the disk. I've looked around on the internet for information on doing this and found that a program called FIPS might be useful. I'm still not very confident on how to do it however. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I use Partition Magic - it lets you resize partitions without losing data

:-\ any tips with free programs would be helpful, as I'm 14 without much money so I can't buy Partition Magic. And I will make sure to backup everything. Thank you.

It depends on what type of partition you want to resize. FIPS is just for DOS partitions that use a FAT.
Look at GNU parted. http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/parted.html |
Thanks. I've decided that I want to divide my 30 gb fat32 partition into a 20 gb fat 32 partition for windows and 10 gb fat32 partition for media/documents. So should I use FIPS or Parted?
