reinstalled floppy problems. I/O error.

I'm taking A+ classes and i removed my floppy drive and then reinstalled but i did so in a hurry. In my rush i forgot to reconnect the power cord to the drive and i booted into linux.

after reattaching the wires and putting them on in every way imaginable i still receive an I/O error when trying to access it.
i would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.

thank you!

I just attempted to boot my Linux box and now it wont even start. The moniter comes on but the green LED light on my box flickers and dies. So i guess this isn't a Linux problem anymore :-/
Thanks for trying to help but the cheep thing is shot. I got it for free after doing some work for a place called the electronic scriptorium. *shrugs* guess ill have to get a job and build my dream machine.
