Refresh Rate...?
Hello, I recently installed Mandrake 9.2 and everything seems to work right up until it loads KDE. I think that the refresh rate is too high, but I don't know how to change it.
If that isn't the problem, can someone please tell me what is? thank you in advance.

maybe ur horiz and vert sync in XF86Config are out of range..... this would cause ur monitor to refuse to display anything so that it doesnt blow up.... of course, I may be entirely wrong.... :-) somebody with more exp get in here.....
I think u need to try and boot into the console..... There are some options with which u can enter single-user mode, thru lilo (or whatever bootloader), which will HOPEFULLY take u to ur console, so that u can change the sync.... but I forget what these commands are......
I suggest u let this thread die, and FIRST, search for info on booting into a different 'Runlevel' thru the boot-loader..... and if u dont find anything, start a new one with the subject "Changing runlevels from the bootloader", or something like that..... :-)

Do a search for "Mandrake Forum" on google.com, this is the first forum that you dont have to pay for.
I can get into console after boot, there is an option for "linux", "failsafe" (this one boots to console), "windows", and "floppy".

umm, there is a Mandrake-specific forum right on this site, www.linuxquestions.org ... look around a bit, and u'll find it....
once u get into console, u need to run xf86config (if thats the one u have in Mandrake... never used it, so dunno) and set ur monitor sync manually.... u can get ur monitor syncs from ur monitor documentation......
and goto the main page of this site, and look around a bit....
