redirect printer output on computer 1(Win2000) to Computer 2(Ubuntu)via parallel port

My idea is to use a gender changer on my parallel printer cable.
My windows machine will output data to my hp 4050tn printer.
On my linux terminal I redirect the input to accept the parallel port as the input device instead of the keyboard.
Now having accepted the piped data I redirect to append to a file.
Can this be done?

Use Linux box for a print server

I have a correspondence course that I can print to my printer with, but I can only print one page at a time. I have a duplexer for my printer and can print both sides of the page, but not if I only output 1 page at a time. If I can get the files into my linux box and append them to make long file then I can print chapters back and front. So I guess I want to use the linux box to be a print server.
