Support for sparc was dropped long ago .. currently RHEL supports x86, AMD64, Intel 64, Itanium, IBM P series and Z series

cheers

Install latest version of Solaris. Install latest version of Virtualbox. Install RH of Centros/Scientific linux on VM.

VirtualBox is for the x86 architecture, not SPARC.

KVM and Xen are other options for virtualization, but I'm not sure about whether or not they support SPARC.

jlliagre 09-08-2010 05:00 PM

They don't. KVM is x86 also only. XEN might have ARM and PowerPC implementations but no real SPARC support.

Prety sure Sun was trying to sell sparc systems that ran Solaris and could be used to virtualize your data center. Wasn't that why they bought Virtualbox? They did have ldoms before that.

That Means no chance na..?

i found one documentation about this

The Ultra 45 doesn't support any of the virtualization techniques that are available on other Sun hardware, outside Solaris containers (zones). The latter do not support running Linux so won't help in that case.
