Question redhat linux 9.0 + 2.6.7 kernel + wireless proxim cardbus

I am trying to get a Proxim 802.11 b/g pcmcia (cardbus) wireless to run on
a Sony Vaio PCG-GR250.
I have RedHat 9.0 installed and updated my kernel to 2.6.7
the pcmcia-cs-3.2.[7-8] that have tried, failed to build correctly.
Is there a step by step procedure to achieve the recognition of this board for this kernel level?
Thank you in advance for you kind guidance
