Question Redhat 9 Switching between CRT And LCD

I have a compaq Presario 12XL510 notebook. In WindowsXP I can use the Function + 3 to switch the video (LCD. LCD/CRT. CRT). I want to be able to do this in Linux however I am not sure how. Some things I want to lay down first.

I have completed nuked the hard drive from Windows ME and all the propriatary Compaq junk and installed WindowsXP Pro. The Video switching work out of the box. I have a completly seperate HD and nuked that and installed RedHat 9.

Ok, now it is up to you out there to lend a hand! Pretty please

FYI: My notebook uses the Trident Cyberblade /i1 chipset with a wooping 8mb.

If I remember right, the video switching part of the Campaq's is in hardware... I've got one around (sort of) I could fiddle with to find out, but first you might want to try www.linux-laptop.net and just poke through all of the presaria 1000-esque era pages they have. Video switching wasn't unique to just your model, so whatever someone else got to work will probably also work with yours.

Cheers,
