Redhat 9 + highpoint raid
Hello all,
I first booted the install from the cd when I came to partioning it detected 2 120gb drives instead of 1 240 raid drive. After some reading I found this website http://www.terra.es/personal2/capullator/ where I downloaded the rh9_hpt37x.tgz now I can boot of the boot floppy and type Linux dd and then enter the driver disk when prompted and the install detects the drive as one device on /dev/sda. Now I have installed the whole thing, but when I boot I can an error about not being able to mount root from /dev/sda. There was also a kmod error. And it was detecting the drives as hde1 and hdf1. Now after lots of reading, I need to recompile the kernel without the driver that's detecting the hard drives as 2 drives instead of a raid, and have it use the driver on the driver disk! How do I do this??, I can boot of the boot disk and type Linux dd rescue and access my installation just fine. Cheers Dwayne |
There's a huge thread on this right now, Sharky pokes in here a lot and hasn't quite got his rh9.0 package the way he wants it just yet.
