Unhappy RedHat 9 finds ethernet, but won't use it.

Hi,
I'm trying to get the ethernet connection working. I'm using an A7V600 motherboard, and noticed that a number of people are having trouble getting the onboard ethernet card to work, so I disabled it, and put in another one, but I'm having the same problem.

The problem is that while lspci detects the card, and seems to know what it is, when I run dmesg |grep eth[0-9] it kicks out the following message:

divert: not allocating divert_blk for non-ethernet device eth0

divert: no divert_blk to freww eth0 not ethernet

This is the output for the card from lspci:

0:0e.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8029(AS)

As was recommended on other posts, I've disabled the PnP in the bios, but since it does seem to be detecting the card I don't see why that would be the problem.

I've also checked that /etc/something/somethingeth0 file, and it's got the 3 lines that should be there (both according to posts here, and the installation instructions that came with the modem (Zoom X4)

Any ideas?

Thanks very much,

Buff

The Realtek 8029 uses the ne2k-pci module. Is it being loaded?
