Question Redhat 9 and ecs

hope you can help me out here. I am trying to put together a cheap Red hat 9 PC. I have seen a good deal on a ECS K7SOM+ motherboard but I am not sure if RH9 supports the Ac 97 sound, onboard NIC and SIS 730d graphics.

Has anybody here got the above to work fine in RH9 or another distro?

many thanks

I've intalled a red hat 9 on a ECS K7SOM + with a sis740 northbridge and a sis962L southbridge... and well it works fine.

I've just one problem : the 3D graphic accelerator because there are no drivers for the build in 3D graphic card !!!

in my experience, most on-board stuff works fine except video. the ac97 sound is supported fine, so are most on-board lan ports. the exception to the on-board video problems seem to be nVidia based onboard video cards. not only do they work, but nVidia is great about providing 3d drivers. just my .02
