Question RedHat 9.0 and AC97 based soundcard


Hi!

i'm using redhat 9.0 with kernel 2.4.20-19.9

when i look at dmesg output, i see this:

Intel 810 + AC97 Audio, version 0.24, 17:27:34 Jul 15 2003
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1f.5 to 64
i810: Intel ICH4 found at IO 0x2000 and 0x2400, MEM 0xd0080c00 and 0xd0080800, IRQ 5
i810: Intel ICH4 mmio at 0xe08b4c00 and 0xe08b6800
i810_audio: Primary codec has ID 2
i810_audio: Audio Controller supports 6 channels.
i810_audio: Defaulting to base 2 channel mode.
i810_audio: Resetting connection 0
i810_audio: Connection 0 with codec id 2
ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: ADS112 (Unknown)
i810_audio: AC'97 codec 2 supports AMAP, total channels = 6

and in /var/log/messages :

the comand lsmod looks fine:
i810_audio 27624 1 (autoclean)
ac97_codec 14568 0 (autoclean) [i810_audio]
soundcore 6404 2 (autoclean) [i810_audio]
i830 74336 12

but when i try to configure my soundcard, with redhat-config-sound utility, i get this message:

i810_audio: Device or resource busy

and can't hear any sound

do i need to pass some extra option to the sound module?
anyone with similar troubles out there?
