RedHat 8.0 with 802.11a 802.11b and 802.11g

Hello all.

Need some wireless assistance.

I'm currently working in a lab specializing in Wireless Media Technologies.

Has anyone setup RedHat 8.0 with 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g wireless PCI cards? if so, which hardware manufacturers for 802.11a,b and g Wireless PCI cards did you use?

Thanks.

B.

RH 8.0 is based around the 2.4.18 kernel, which was a year old by RH's release date. At the time the prism2, orinoco, and cisco cards were the only ones supported in kernel. Many many many driver sets exist out there for many more cards, including some 802.11a offerings. Check the thread at the top of this forum most of my bookmarks for a better idea of what's currently available.

Cheers,

Finegan

My experiance:

802.11b w/ RedHat 8.0 using Netgear MA401RA card, Netgear run-of-the-mill WAP, and D-Link Costco-special WAP.

Works great...easy to setup...no complaints.
