Redhat 8.0 / Creative Labs PCI 128

I have an ensoniqe 5880, sold as a creative labs PCI 128, i can't get it to work...

It uses the es1371 module, but :
[root@newthird root]# modprobe es1371
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.8/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/

DMESG:

es1371: version v0.32 time 07:47:48 May 29 2003
PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:07.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 01:00.0

Snippet of /proc/pci:

Bus 0, device 4, function 3:
Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 1).
IRQ 9.
Bus 0, device 7, function 0:
Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI (rev 2).
IRQ 9.
Master Capable. No bursts. Min Gnt=12.Max Lat=128.
Bus 0, device 10, function 0:
Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev 5).
IRQ 9.

.
.
.
Bus 1, device 0, function 0:
VGA compatible controller: Cirrus Logic GD 5465 [Laguna] (rev 3).
IRQ 9.

Is it trying to share too many irq's?

This is quite frustrating, i took the whole day fiddling with it.

/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.8/kernel/sound/snd-ens1371.o: init_module: No such deviceHint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.

DMESG:
ALSA ../alsa-kernel/pci/ens1370.c:1904: unable to grab ports 0x0-0x3f
