Redhat 8.0 and External Modems

I did a search, but haven't found the answer to my problem yet. I've re-installed Redhat 8.0 on my machine but it keeps telling me "modem not found" when I try to set up my ISP account.

I know that the modem works fine because I had Redhat installed previously using this modem without any problems. Admittedly, a friend set everything up for me so I don't know what he did to get it to work.

Thanks for any help.

/dev/ttyS0 for the first serial port
/dev/ttyS1 for the second serial port

ln -s <one of the above, where you connect modem> /dev/modem

Can you connect now?
