Red Hat RAID

I am attmepting to install the latest version of Red Hat (I think it is 9 or also referred to as shrike) on a netserver E60. I have a raid 5 array of 4 disks on an adaptec AAA-131U2 controller. Windows installs perfectly without a hitch but when I attempt to install RH, it says it detects each drive individually rather than the whole array as a logical disk. I have tried reformatting in Partition Magic as well as wiping the drives and raid array and starting from scratch. I have poked around in linux but have not done much with it. This is my first somewhat important installation and it hasn't been going very well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
