Red Hat Linux ver.10 Fedora core is not connecting Reliance LG2030 to serial port?

Hi friends,
I am facing with the problem of connecting to internet with Rconnect.
I am using Red Hat Linux ver. (10) Fedora & Enterprise Edition. I want to connect with the internet with my reliance India mobile. I have a serial port data cable. I have also installed the Linux software from reliance website. I decompress it in Linux. Every thing is fine. It also starts successfully. When it starts up it 1st ask which model you are using, I answer 1. (Lg 2030). Then it ask that to where it is connected on USB port or on Serial Port, I answer S (Serial Port). Then it asks that please specify that to which port it is connected. I have connected my data cable to /dev/ttyS0 (COM 1). Then I answer /dev/ttyS0. But here starts the problem, computer didn’t detect my phone. Now please resolve my problem. I have also entered /dev/ttyS1. But still fail.

please resolve my problem. i m using VIA mother board.
