Red Hat 9 will not install

I have just started my first ever install of Linux (Red Hat 9) and it won't install. I can get to formating the drives but it stops and says "You are trying to install on a machine which isn't supported by this version of Linux"

This is a 4-year old IBM Aptiva. Shouldn't the newest Linux support it? The HCL at RH.com says it probably should.

AMD K6-2 400Mhz
256 RAM
ALi chipset M1542,M1543-(Ali is not on the HCL, is this it?)
Sony CD-ROM
D-Link nic.

I get to the same point using both Graphic and text installs.

I would say if that isn't listed on the HCL then most likely this is why your getting that error and it won't install.
