Question Red Hat 8: Firewire Trouble

Folks:

I'm still adjusting to Linux, so this might be a pretty basic issue. I have a LaCie PocketDrive (it's formatted FAT32, btw) running through a Belkin firewire pci card, but I can't seem to get it to recognize or load. Kudzu (sic?) seems to detect the drive, but it will configure it, remove it, configure it, over and and over again. I think this might, also, be related to my hardware browser now loading. Is there a command that I can use to diagnose the problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!
