Recommend SATA - PCI controller for linux

Hallo!
Please recommend me a SATA PCI controller that works with linux.
Here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=522018
is my previous post describing the problems.
Eventually I managed to install CentOS, but the same errors occurred. Then I installed Slackware 10.2, but again same errors.
The only solution I've found on the net was to change the controller.

Thanks for any help!!!

Thanks for the quick reply!
Sure I did a research before ask for help here, so I found the recommended site (this one is useful too). As well as many others and I'm little confused from all the information. My card has a "Silicon Image 3112" chipset and it's supported by sata_sil driver according to this site. But it doesn't work as it is supposed to. So I don't want to buy another non-working card (my Boss will kill me :) ). Thats why I need your opinion, if you have this kind of controller really working on your server.

Best regards!
