Recommeded HP Printer.

HI,

I have Lexmard X2350 crappy printer. I found couple of forms and i tried many things but not luck. I came to the consluction that Lexmark is no supported and it's not going be in the future. Now i decided to but a new HP All-in-one printer, i would like to ask you people which all-in-one printer is would work with http://hplip.sourceforge.net/
driver. I would like to printing and scanning to be functional.
Thanks

Hewlett-Packard Officejet 5610.

If anyone recommends something different, pay no attention. I've had this one for about 6 months now, and I can tell you, there is none better.

That is mean. There are several printers that are better. I do not recommend using all-in-one units because if one device breaks, you have to buy device that broke in the all-in-one unit. Ink jet printers are harder to align in Linux to get near perfect results. I suggest using laser printers because they do not have a head to align and they work as expected. I have a Brother HL-5140 that is working well. If you want color print outs, Konica -Minolta color laser printers is said to be the best.

Ditto the comment about all-in-ones

Ink-Jets harder to align???? BS--I get PERFECT results with my Epson 900 (Same as a 1280, but letter-size). For Photos, you need ink-jet

I have an HP Laser-Jet 1022---Really great. There are other equally good low-end lasers

Personally, i advice manufacturer to take a look at UBUNTU dekstop. Probably they would realize that they're going to be kicked off the market if they don't start supporting linux withing the next five years :-)
it looks like that the guys in HPLIP are working their butt off to get print drivers for new printers. I looked at the supported printer's page and it look like most of the popular All-in-one printers are supported. If HP 5610 works, i don't find a reason why HP 6310 won't work either.
LaserJet printers are the most reliable of all. But i'm not planning to go through the hassel of finding sepreate scanner that is supported by linux.
I think i will buy an HP 6310 and give it a shot. I will post the results
