Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Recognise a new hard drive

Hi all,

New here so virtual drinks all round.

I am wondering if someone could help me with a query. I have an external storage array and have allocated a new LUN to a Redhat 4 server but it doesn't see it. Do I need to reboot the box so it can, or is there a command that should work.

Sorry if this is very basic but new to the WW of Linux

Cheers

In order to hard disk getting detected on your linux machine, you are suppose to "mount" that.

Here is a small article for that
