Reboot serial modem from linux
Hi all,
I have a D-Link DFM-562E external modem working on /dev/ttyS0. I am using it to receive faxes with HylaFAX. Sometimes when receiving a fax it it hangs and keeps holding the line. I wanted to figure out a way of resetting it from command line. Is there a way to power cycle or reset an external modem from the linux shell ? Thks to all |
You can send AT commands via the command line via the cat command. I assume this modem uses the standard AT command set. AT+++ to regain control and atz to reset. You can use the setserial command to configure the port if necessary.
