My new Intel 865Pe-based motherboard (ABIT IS7) has a built in Realtek AC'97 sound device. (It's called Intel 82801EB AC'97 Audio in the Windows hardware browser).
sndconfig claims it's not supported and recognizes it as a Realtek AC'97. Are there any drivers out there? I found them for Windoze but not Linux.
take look at http://www.alsa-project.org/ which will get your soundcard working.
Just download the rpm and gave it a try.
you install it by by "rpm -Uvh <package's name>" after you login as root.
