RealTek 8168/8110 with fedora

I have downloaded on my XP machine the new set of drivers for the realtek 8169/8100 drivers and followed the readme file to compile the drivers. I got the following files after they compliled

r8169.ko
r8169.o
r8169.mod.o
r8169.mod.c
r8169_n.o

I found where the net drivers are located
/lib/modules/2.6.5-1.358/kernel/drivers/net

so I copied those files and tried to 'insmod' them into the kernel, only the first one allowed me to insert but when I tried to dmesg the file it would show that
No module found in object
and the network card cannot be found
what should I do (and I am somewhat new to linux)

thank you for your future help
