RANDR and ATI radeon 9600XT

My Desktop isnt resizing when i use fglx driver, the desktop stays huge like hell, i have to move the mouse like im playin some strategy game... it expands with the mouse.. lol, in the menu that has the options to change resolution, it says that my RANDR doesnt support the resizing it also says to update it... I checked this website:
//keithp.com/~keithp/talks/randr/ and saw the new protocol, but i dont know how to update Randr anyway... I have updated the XFREE86 today automaticly with mandrake 10 with rpmdrake. (you know, the system that works like Windows Update :X )
Thanks for the atention, hope to get a resolution soon
