random system crashes

Ever since I added a new Western Digital Caviar 120GB 8MB cache hard drive last night (removin g my old hard drive and doing a completely fresh system install with Fedora Core 1) I've been getting random system crashes. I tried disabling UDMA and ACPI support in the bios (Biostar M7NCD Pro Award Bios). Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Please help.

I'll give you all a bit more info in between crashes here. Nothing in the system logs really jumps out at me so far. I'm using the nvidia nforce drivers, though I was having the very same problems with the default fedora drivers. Nvidia graphics drivers, too, for a GeForce FX 5200. I can't figure out what is triggering the crashes. I doubt it is a hardware problem, unless the hard drive is somehow defective, though that is doubtful since it performed well in the install, etc.
