random characters sent to sandard output with bttv drivers

dmesg output

i2c IR (Hauppauge): unknown key: key=0x31 raw=0x3831 down=0

also strange things are happening to standard output its interfearing with the cursor when i type and printing random characters out and moving cursor at random.

its very annoying

i just enabled the bttv kernel mods and built xawtv.

i use 2.6.10
