RAM prohibits install/use of Fedora/Mandrake

I've had a rediculous time figuring out why linux would not install. Turns out when i remove my upgraded RAM it works without a hitch (although very slowly).

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 w/ 128 origional RAM. I then added a 128MB Centon chip to upgrade (worked perfectly w/ win98), now running Fedora. Since Linux wont work with the added RAM i'm am down to running on only 64MB, which just isn't cutting it.

I would like to be able to reinstall my additional RAM but not sure how to configure it. I figure it may simply be a driver issue, but I can't find a solution.

Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
Thanks!

RAM requires no drivers. How does linux refuse to work with the to work with the added RAM? What occurs when you try to run it?

When additional RAM is added, the Fadora boot sequence will fail when it is "Detecting New Hardware". My computer will then freeze. The only way to avoid this so far is to simply not use the additional RAM.

Thanks for the reply
