raid rebuilding error

i'm working on hot-swapping drives on my dell server. the server is running red hat but the raiding is done on the hardward side using afacli. when i check the status of my drives with "enclosure show slot" the status is good (aka: OK ACTIVATE) however after i reinsert the drive instead of returning to state, OK ACTIVATE, the status reads, OK REBUILDSTOP ACTIVATE, telling me that the rebuild failed. i allowed the rebuild task to run to 100% but i'm still getting there "error" i prepared the enclosure before i removed it, and activated it later....but i'm still getting this error. the rebuild happens automatically...is there something i'm suppose to initiate or turn on after the rebuild. when rebooting the system back i went into the controller untility and both drives were present. also there seems to be no errors when i "container list"; error only on the status of "enclosure show slot". can anyone help me.....i'm i miss reading the "error: or is the "error" to be ignored?
