RAID card for PCI Express x16 slot?

My first time posting, you guys are very knowledgeable so I trust you'll know the answer! :)

Does a RAID card exists for a PCI Express x16 slot? My RAID 0 array will be capable of 600mb/s read/write so my PCI and PCI-X x1 slots won't have the throughput. I'm also weary of the effectiveness of the onboard controller, hard to find exact data on it's specifications but 600mb/s will likely get bottlenecked somehow.

My motherboard: Asus Striker Extreme II

My HDD's: x5 MemoRight GT 32gb

I don't want to switch motherboards since i'll lose my 790i Nvidia chipset. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I suppose my question might have been too "newb" for this forum,

I did alot of leg work yesterday and found the answers-
1-PCI Express slots are backwards compatible (this includes versions prior to 2.0). So to acheive my raid storage needs I simply need to order a pci-x x8 card and throw it in my x16 slot, no adapter or special software necessary.
2-The max throughput of the best raid cards seems to top out at about 1.2gb/s even though the x8 interface allows for 2gb/s in each direction. This gives me enough room for 10 of my HDD's so it works regardless :). The acception would be cross raid cards which I haven't looked into given my limited slots.

So there's the answer for the less knowledgeable browsing this post, hope I helped.

I would recommend something from 3Ware Their cards are supported very well in Linux.

Best of luck on your project :)
