RadioShack DualShock PSX to USB adapter 26-304

Hello, I am trying to cobble together some information on this obscure dongle and whether anyone has gotten this to work on a Linux system. I'm running the latest Ubuntu MATE, C2D E7300, 8GB.

It's an adapter for a DualShock controller to USB, originally supported under Win98 and XP, and the model # was 26-304. Currently lsusb does not recognize this adapter under any of the USB ports on my system. Anyone out there gotten this working?

Even with no driver support lsusb should still enumerate the device chipset if the USB device is alive.

^ or dmesg.
if that doesn't "see" it either, i'd say your SOL.
