You don't have a compiler installed. Take a look at Mandy's GUI rpm installer and set it to install "gcc", that'll take care of the dependencies involved... its a lot of space though, about 200+ Mb for the compiler and all of the tools and toys that'll come with it.

Thanks a lot, compiler installed with all dependencies.

I am asked for Kernel version.

Something else is missing ?

Oh my, evidently Mandrake didn't install the source code for the kernel and the module needs that... Its another rpm on the disk, this one is a bit large installed, like 140Mb give or take, and only one or two dependencies. This is the typical requirements when building a driver from source, you need something to build it with, and the source code of what you already have installed.

Hi finnegan

Don't know if you get my last message, so these are last news.

alsa codec installed , but unfortunately the sound is not fixed yet.

Can get any sound from it, the readme file advise to edit /etc/modules.

What does it mean really ??

I have found the file and ' via ' is detected .

Can i have the sound tested by any other way??

Hi

As nothing was working really, i tried to delete the driver and to
try again!!

Now the following message appears

cannot find alsa-kernel/core/makefile
cannot find /Rules.make
