radeon, geforce, and redhat 9

is a radeon 9000 compatible with redhat 9?
would it auto-detect it or am i supposed to use a driver instead?
are the nvidia geforce cards all auto detected by redhat 9?

My 3D acceleration works perfectly with RedHat 9.0, I have an ATI Radeon 9100 128Mo.

Radeon =< r200 are supported through XFree-4.3.0.
Radeon >= r200 are supported through Ati's proprietary drivers.

If you do the math, you'll see the r200 are supported by both...

Do a search on the forum, DaOne has posted a link to Ati's newests, the 2.9.6, which support XFree-4.3.0.
If you're still using XFree-4.2.x, the older 2.5.1 will work, see Ati's regular d/l site.

That's a few options and YMMV with each/any.

I change nothing, I installed RedHat 9 and it's working.
