The ATI provided driver for my Radeon 9800 causes Suse to crash on bootup ~ Has anybody else had issues running their 9800 on Suse as well? Or ATI cards in general? I've heard Suse releases their own drivers but I've never seen anytthing like this on their website...
I have SuSE 8.2 and used the newest ATI drivers from the ATI website, following the directions on the readme. I used fglrxconfig and NOT sax-2, and it seems to work fine on my system.
Out of curiosity, where in bootup is it crashing? Could be a funky GRUB command or something too.
Actually I was wrong about the bootup. The error message is related to my soundcard (another issue I'm having). It just won't boot into X, and when I try to start KDE is says it can't connect to the X server.
